Brush Weather Stripping for Door Seals and Environmental Control

Memtech brush weather stripping is designed and field tested as a dependable door seal for both hot and cold weather applications—helping keep conditioned air in and outside air out. Brush weather stripping also helps prevent dust, debris, insects, and air seepage through gaps and large openings on exterior doors.

Brush Weather Stripping

Brush weather stripping is used across a wide range of door seal applications, including dock levelers, entry doors, aircraft hangar doors, sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors, swing doors, hollow metal doors, and many other industrial openings. For facilities that need long-term performance across uneven gaps, brush weather stripping is one of the most reliable sealing options available.

Custom Door Weather Seal Designs

Custom Brush Weather Seals

Whether your facility uses stock door sizes or custom openings, Memtech brush door seals provide a unique weather stripping solution because they seal more effectively than vinyl or neoprene while remaining highly durable over time. Individual bristles nest together along the sealing surface, which helps maintain contact where rigid seals typically fail.

Brush weather stripping is a fully flexible sealing method used on doors and dock equipment, but it also serves industry as a deflector for drilling or surfacing machines, a parts and product guide, and a sound or temperature barrier. For related brush seal solutions, visit Flex-Guard.

Why Brush Seals as Weather Stripping

Why Brush Seals for Weather Stripping

Brush weather stripping is typically manufactured using nylon filament looped around a central wire, crimped into a steel channel, and trimmed to size—often exceeding 1,200 filaments per inch. The brush assembly slides into an aluminum extrusion designed to fit a specific door system or sealing requirement.

Brush sizes range from ¼″ up to 24″, and extruded holders can be manufactured in multiple profiles and angles to suit the application. Extrusion sizes are commonly designated by letter (A through J), with codes indicating brush angle, aluminum finish, extrusion length used for pricing, and brush filament length—allowing consistent specification across a wide range of door types.
