Memtech Brush Seals and Weather Seals  Door Installation

BOTTOM SWEEP

STOP! - BEFORE CUTTING PLEASE READ - CLICK HERE

Step 1:
The "sweep", is the  flat brush seal which mounts to door bottom on side toward which door opens... so it "sweeps" in closing.

Place the strip along door bottom to find its width and mark for cutting. Cut to maximum outside width, so that brush will extend into bottom corners, but not wider than door (it could cause a snag).

Step 2:
Cut Brushield strip according to the illustration.  This procedure applies to all cuts of this product mentioned herein; never cut brush and extrusion together, as sawed (uncrimped) brush will  lose its filaments.

Step 3:
Place strip at door bottom and test for proper position: The brush should bend slightly at door's closed position to gain a seal.  Mark screw holes with a nail or punch, at center of slots.

In setting height, check pressure on brush when door swings fully open; a rise in the floor could cause the door to stick or crush the brush if left open.  Place screws snugly but not tightly about center-way in their slots and find a compromise level to fasten them permanently.  Tighten at that point.
